Not To Be Outdone By The Catholic Church! New Life Church Keeps Cranking Out The Scandals!

So When Does The Sex-Slave Operation Come To Light?

The Church and sex. It's getting to be like some strange one-upsmanship or, better yet, a race: who can be more hypocritical: The Catholic Church or New Life Church or the whatever-non-denominational-megachurch-is-in-at-the-moment. Yes, I admit that taking potshots at church sex scandals is waaay too easy for us immoral liberals, but I also have to admit: IT'S SO, MUCH DAMN FUN!

-From Michael Signorile:
A Colorado Springs bail bondsman and sometime bounty hunter who has been investigating New Life Church and Ted Haggard for several years appeared on my show late on Friday and told me that he now has information on ten more cases of sexual misconduct on the part of Ted Haggard and that three of these involve minors. He also said that New Life Church had suppressed from the media an earlier case of a pastor at the church (which has many pastors under the senior pastor) who was convicted of sexual assault against a child under the age of 15 and got off easy with help from the church, only to later have his probation revoked. The convicted pastor then illegally left the country, he said, and he speculates that New Life Church may have helped him do so.
And the hypocrisy keeps growing and growing and growing and GROWING!

I know the stock answer to all the stuff that has hit New Life: "But OUR church isn't like that!" Sorry, but this is a time when you should be your brother's keeper. So many people distance themselves from the likes of Ted Haggard, from Jeremiah Wright, from John Hagee, from Rod Parsley, from Fred Phelps, even from the Vatican, when DISTANCING IS NOT ENOUGH. They have to be openly ostracised. Not even Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Bakker, and, yes, Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell were punished enough. Am I being a little too strict, too vengeful here?

Yes.

Because they would do the same to me.

You better believe it. There is not enough accountability in these situations: the Catholic Church has protected pedophiles by tossing them from one parish to another. New Life Church pays the victims hush money. How many potential scandals are buried under our very noses? We may never know.

And it will be a long time until America's "Christians" will realize that "Rev." or "Fr." is not "St."

Far from it.

Just a thought.
