Thank God For A Day Of Wonderful, Peaceful Protests

They protested in 5 countries, all fifty states and over 300 cities. Protests ranged from the small (100) to the large (30,000). The important thing: they were mostly peaceful. Up until this time (6:00PM PT) there have been no arrests, no violence, and no desecration of buildings.

We should thank God - in our own, individual way.

And after the passing of Proposition 8 in California, these protests prove that the issue of marriage equality is not going away. The hate-mongers have had their day. It's time for love to take it's rightful place in humanity.

Of course, the hate-mongers, Christofascists and their minions will not simply go away either. "News" and donation letters from organizations like Family Research Council are still preparing for an all out war.

From Tony Perkins and the FRC:

...Therefore, FRC is launching a plan to help expose our liberal leaders' radicalism to America even as we short-circuit their agenda in Washington.

Knowing an Obama victory was possible, FRC crafted this plan in advance....So make no mistake, this can be our movement's "finest hour."

Help Launch "Our Finest Hour": The FRC Plan to Reverse the Threat to Our Values and Freedom. The plan includes:

  • Building a Capitol Hill Firewall by supplying conservative and genuinely centrist members of Congress with facts and answers.
  • Building a Supreme Court Firewall by laying the groundwork ...to reject any radical judicial activist nominees.
  • Building a National Firestorm of facts through a media strategy that will expose the extremism of leaders in the White House and Congress.
Yes, The Family Research Council and other institutions like it want to see heads roll. They want blood. They've smelled too much of it to even think about anything else.

Just a thought.
