Let's Go Out With One BIG BUSH BASH!!!

Cheney! - He's Not Even Worth The Effort!

Yes, this campaign has been ridiculous and exhausting. But the silver lining of November Fourth: looking forward to NO GEORGE W. BUSH!!

Think of it! The joyous time when we won't feel like we're being led by Disney's Goofy. We won't have any more euphemisms slung at us from a diplomatic dimwit! No more "I'm the decider" rhetoric - or what was supposed to pass for rhetoric. No more platitudes like "We should err on the side of life" coming from someone who condoned (and even laughed at) the electrocution of 152 individuals BEFORE he decided to risk losing thousands of soldiers in an unethical war.

Of course, in January, we may be seeing articles like "Was He Really All That Bad?"

YES. America had a very long, long period of denial. His ratings went down to 27%. But that means that 27% of the country - ostensibly people who can vote - are still in denial. Yes, they're THAT clueless. Don't let this miserable segment of the population tarnish what reputation we have left. 27%. 27%. 27%. 27%!!! Use it as a mantra when you vote tomorrow. At least 27% of the plebiscite WANT the same kind of president!

The only truly sorry people after January 20th will be stand-up comics.

O.K.: So here is the view of Bush during these last centuries (ooops!) - years:

We Will Be Posting Same-Sex Love Collages Until Voting Day!

And Portraits of All of Our Devils, Demons and Satans!

Yes, perhaps this is the most important election day in the last century. We get it. No one has to beat us over the head about it. The reasonable campaigners see it this way:

The United States is in the middle of two wars. It is also in the midst of economic turmoil not seen since the Great Depression. Almost 25% of the country is without health insurance. We are $1 trillion in debt. We have lost our integrity with the rest of the world. We have had 8 long years of deregulation and soaring rising gas prices. We have given over many personal rights for the sake of national security.

The unreasonable campaigners have a different view:

We are in the midst of a culture war. Our taxes are too high. We must keep our righteous alliances in the Middle East. We must not be only "pro life'" but "pro birth."

Amidst all of this is the most heralded, most scrutinized, expensive state constitutional amendment in history: Proposition 8. Almost $90 million has been spent. All because the unreasonables don't want anyone to "redefine" the definition of marriage.

We could go into (yet again) the "definition" of marriage. Let's just say that the unreasonables fantasize marriage: it never really was the they dream about it.

$90 million. That's a very expensive fantasy.

To many gays and lesbians, marriage was a dream as well. Now it's more than just a faraway dream: it's a reality because people around the world are realizing that a commitment like marriage is a right, not a dream.

Until November 4th, let's all live the dream of equality for all.

Just a thought.

Back by Popular Demand: Another Love Collage!! This Time Spot...

Satan!
(Actually Satans)

This collage centers on the love of men. With this collage, however, you don't have to spot Jesus, but you do have to spot more than several SATANS. These are the supreme hypocrites, the unreasonable pharisees who will doing anything to keep people of the same sex from loving one another. Just who is the bigger sinner?

The campaign for/against Proposition 8 has spawned a whole host of sins (many on ProtectMarriage.com and some on the supporters of Equality California). Here's a small rundown.

(Thanks to 365gay.com)
  • Earlier this week a cyber attack brought down the “No on Prop 8″ campaign Web site. The FBI and Secret Service are investigating.
  • In Fresno, police are investigating death threats against two local supporters of Proposition 8.
  • Mayor Alan Autry and Pastor Jim Franklin of the Cornerstone Church received what police call very detailed threats that mentioned their participation in a pro-proposition 8 rally this weekend.
  • In Torrance, a man has been charged with a felony hate crime assault for allegedly using an anti-gay marriage Yes on Prop. 8 lawn sign to attack a gay man wearing a No on 8 button.
  • In Bakersfield, a local leader of the campaign for the ballot measure was videotaped at a pro-gay marriage rally kicking and punching a protester. The protestor, who had been heckling him, declined to press charges.
  • Thousands of lawn signs are promoting the two sides on the issue throughout California and each side is accusing the other of stealing and defacing the signs.

The latest public opinion poll shows the No side remains ahead but the gap is narrowing - when the margin of error is factored in it is a dead heat.

The issues the have risen due to Proposition 8 have made hatred come into sharp focus. Last week, ProtectMarriage.com sent letters to 30 of Equality California's top donors. The letters are being considered a form of extortion.

When it comes to morals and rights, people who think they know them or possess them react in a violent manner.

Well, that said, here's the collage:

So Much Love!

And then there's this one:

The Impossible Just Happened...

Campaigns across the country just got uglier.

Probably the one you've heard about in the last 24 hours is the close U.S. Senate seat for North Carolina: Kay Hagan vs. Elizabeth Dole.

Dole will probably get a lot of awards this year for her latest ad about Kay Hagan. Unfortunately, these awards will have words like "worst" "most despicable" "most horrendous" "lousiest" and "most offensive." The advertisement in question raises questions about Dole's desperation: it is horribly cobbled together and ends with a "quote" from Kagan that "there is no God." One problem: Kagan is still a Sunday school teacher and a member in very good standing with the Presbyterian Church! AND Kagan's voice was faked!

This is almost as nasty as the extortion of ProtectMarriage.com on businesses that donated to Equality California (No on Prop 8).

Extortion. Fraud, Libel. Money laundering.* The chicanery seems to be pretty one-sided at times, but there have been many attacks by the left as well. Will all this stuff end on Nov.4th?

NO.

Just a thought.

The Obama Assassination Attempt Reminds Us: Vote With Reason ...

...And Not HatredWhile an actual attempt on Barack Obama's life was not carried out, the knowledge that two self-proclaimed skinheads (one affiliated with Supreme White Alliance*) had outlined a plan to kill him and as many African Americans as they could is a chilling indictment of the hatred that still resides in this country.

Think of it: at no time in recent history has an election year been as contentious and vicious. Local, state and Federal campaigns across the country have focused on character assassination and smear tactics while bribery, corruption, lies and cronyism along with every other horrendous trait of dirty politics is left to be discovered by journalists and bloggers.

We've seen "family values" campaigns using blackmail and intimidation. We've witnessed candidates like Sarah Palin continuing to use fear of the unknown and wild accusations. We've viewed religious clergy openly attacking candidates and policies from the pulpit. And we've experienced just how expensive it is for a party to campaign - even down to a candidate's clothing allowance.

Mob mentality has begun to creep into our democracy. Early voters are being aggressively harassed.

When the energy (and possible violence) of November 4th dies down,
the symptoms of all the anger will not.

Just a thought.

* I realize that flippancy at this point would be distasteful, but I can't resist passing on this comment made in the blog of The Southern Poverty Law Center: "Oh wow. I thought the “Supreme White Alliance” was a bunch of drag queens who worshipped Diana Ross." LOL!

WWJD About Prop 8? Find Him In This Collage of Love!

O.K., Mormons will never go for the above. They "invested" $10 million in Proposition 8 and no matter what the Bible says, they will NOT give gays and lesbians equal marriage rights. To them, it's a matter of economics: they get more money from traditional "families" and tithes than they do from gay couples.

I especially love the dictum: "Marriage is honorable in all." Can't you hear the screams right now? "The Bible didn't mean same-sex marriage!" Oh? Then how come Jesus honored the relationship between the Roman Centurian and his slave? While true Biblical scholars don't overlook the possibility, bible-thumpers and televangelists always seem to forget about that part of scripture and it's Greek translation!

Below is a collage of loving couples. Some of them may just be a bit lustful, but some of them pray for the day when they will have the equality to marry. Does anyone who's human want to stand in their way?

Just a thought.
