Tony Perkins has given us his list of imprimaturs: if these guys' policies are what he likes (or come reasonably close - hating enough of the right people, that is), then you can be sure that these guys will fill the halls of Congress with as much Christofascist-hatred-disguised-as-family-values bills as then Capitol and its dome will allow. Here are some highlights. 12 issues FRC wants you to think about when voting. The economy? No. The war in Iraq? No. Health care? No. See for yourself. The real meanings are in red.

1. Abortion. Does the candidate support or oppose taxpayer funding of abortions? Does the candidate support burning down Planned Parenthood clinics?

2. Partial-Birth Abortion. Does the candidate support or oppose the federal Partial-Birth Abortion ban? If the candidate supports the above, this question doesn't apply.

3. Stem Cell Research. Does the candidate support or oppose the federal funding of embryonic stem cell research? Ever see a stem cell up close? It has a soul, I tell ya!

4. Human Cloning. Would the candidate support or oppose federal legislation prohibiting human cloning? The candidate should oppose it, unless, of course, James Dobson can be cloned.

5. Eminent Domain. Does the candidate support or oppose federal legislation limiting the ability of government to take private land for other private development purposes? Hey, we're the ones who want to cover the earth with one big mall! Not the government!

6. Estate Tax. Does the candidate support or oppose repeal of the federal estate tax? If the candidate opposes it he's dead meat.

7. Traditional Marriage. Does the candidate support or oppose a marriage protection amendment to the U.S. Constitution that defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman? All fags should get "married" at Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church!

8. Hate Crimes Legislation. Does the candidate support or oppose federal “hate crimes” legislation that would include “sexual orientation” among its protected classes? We can let our fag-hating preachers get yanked out of their pulpits!

9. ENDA. Does the candidate support or oppose the federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act? Don't let fags in on anything!

10. Energy. Does the candidate support or oppose lifting the federal moratorium on drilling for oil in the Outer Continental Shelf? God bless Sarah Palin! Drill, Baby, Drill!

11. Immigration. Does the candidate support or oppose any form of amnesty for illegal aliens? The candidate should suppose a bill for the most enormous fence (topped by broken glass and barbed wire, of course) the world has ever seen!

12. 2nd Amendment Rights. Would the candidate support or oppose a federal ban on assault weapons? Every American has a right to assault a deer, and elk, a moose, or even a duck in a sportsman-like fashion!

Ridiculous: a politician goes on one of the nation's most visible cable TV shows and says she didn't know what she was getting into. The name, "Hardball" says it all. It gives the impression that Christofascists don't live in the real world. (Do they?). Palin didn't know what she was getting into with her Couric and Gibson interviews. The media combines fluff and hard questions. Shows like "Hardball" mean that you better be ready to talk fast, respond fast and, most importantly, don't look like a dummy.

Bachmann, Palin, and who knows who else. Where do we get these people from? Values Voters? Their values include very low I.Q.s (they do seem to be in fashion, don't they?).

So, while they're busy hurling epithets and screaming against Barack Obama and Joe Biden, the Republicans' territory is getting smaller and they're getting more desperate. Some Republicans are actually switching to Democrats to save their own political skins.

Of course, amidst all of this neocon mudslinging is the elephant in the room: George W. B**h, who just happens to be a Republican.

Not once this year has President Bush appeared in public at a campaign rally for the Republican Party or any of its candidates. And on Tuesday night, when he attends a million dollar fund-raiser for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, it will be the last political event he does before Election Day.

The Republicans have learned (the hard way) that too much mudslinging by political Christofascists can have the opposite affect. The comments made in the video below by Michele Bachmann about Obama being anti-American backfired beautifully:

Those comments, made to Chris Matthews on "Hardball" last Friday, alleging that Barack Obama held "anti-American" views immediately lit up the blogosphere, energized the campaign of former Blaine Mayor Elwyn Tinklenberg (great name!) and turned Bachmann's race from an afterthought into one of the most high profile House races in the country.

Tinklenberg has raised more than $800,000 in the aftermath of Bachmann's comments and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee communications director Jen Crider has called this a "$1 million mistake" on the part of the Republican incumbent.

Considering the other blunders that Bachmann has made in the past, I would strongly suggest that all of her consituents vote for Tinklenberg to save face. Watch the clip and see just how much like Palin Bachmann sounds. She sticks to one talking point like glue simply because she can't answer the other questions (notice how frustrated Chris Matthews looks).

Hurl! Sling! "Do you think they'll ever notice that we're (sssh!) Republicans?"

And Republicans, in defense, are using the same meme as Bachmann: "I never said that!"

Despite the way the blogs and the Democratic Party are spinning it, I never called all liberals anti-American, I never questioned Barack Obama’s patriotism, and I never asked for some House Un-American Activities Committee witch hunt into my colleagues in Congress.

Contrary to Bachmann's implications, viewers of Chris Matthews' Hardball can sense overt implication. She's counting on people reading between her lines and extending her phraseology. Look at the clip twice. Go here to view extended clips - the entire frustrating, self-righteous glare of Bachmann is horrifying. Those extended silences after Matthews' questions aren't due to reception. Bachmann's face freezes when she tries to think of an answer.

White Christofascists Crawl Out of the Woodwork In North Carolina..

...And Right Along With Pat Robertson!

First, on Saturday,

Representatives Patrick McHenry and Robin Hayes warmed up the crowd at a rally for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). McHenry called the event the “biggest crowd John McCain has gotten in North Carolina” and said that voters had a critical choice between McCain and Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) this election. Someone in the audience yelled out, “It’s like black and white” to loud laughter. McHenry let the remark pass.

Representative Robin Hayes, who prefaced his comments by saying it was important to “make sure we don’t say something stupid, make sure we don’t say something we don’t mean.” Republicans, he reminded the crowd, were kind people. Plus, he added, the liberal media had shown itself eager to distort such remarks. With the crowd duly chastened and put on best behavior, he accused Obama of “inciting class warfare” and said that “liberals hate real Americans that work and achieve and believe in God.”

Then on Sunday:

On Sunday, the Washington Times’s Christina Bellantoni stopped by a polling place in North Carolina, where she reported that a “group of loud and angry protestors” — almost all of whom were white — were shouting and mocking voters — nearly all of whom were black. Bellatoni noted that people “were shouting about Obama’s acknowledged cocaine use as a young man, abortion and one man used the word ‘terrorist.’ They also were complaining that Sundays are for church, not voting.”

Today, on C(hristian) B(roadcasting)N(etwork):

Palin also reaffirmed her view that Obama had been "palling around with terrorists" because of his association with Bill Ayers, a 1960s-era radical who helped found the violent Weather Underground group to protest the Vietnam war. The group was responsible for bombings of several government buildings.

"I would say it again," she said.

Sorry about all of those quotes, but it was a long time in researching them and I think they should be quoted in full.

We live in a democracy where every citizen is allowed to vote. Unfortunately, some of them vote against people instead of for people. Palin knows that. And she knows that she can get away with all sorts of lies on Pat Robertson's CBN simply because she's a "person of faith." She knows that she has fanned the flames of racism and bigotry, but she's too ambitious to care.

Palin also claimed religion and God had been "mocked" during the campaign, although she offered no evidence to support that.

Pat Robertson ate it up. He couldn't care less that Palin's rally crowds have shouted things like "kill him!" because, after all, Pat called for the assassination of Hugo Chavez.

I really hate to say it, but this ugly campaign will get uglier. Whether or not Barack Obama wins, he will have to have more security surrounding him than B**h. Mrs. Mooseburger: are assassination attempts on Barack Obama worth all of this rhetoric loose rhetoric?

Who in Congress would you assign to another McCarthy -era HUAC witchhunt? Is anyone dumb enough to do it? Michele Bachmann, you say? BINGO! Calling someone a "commie pinko!" seems to suit her ever vicious, ever ungrammatical style.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: So you believe that Barack Obama may have anti-American views?

BACHMANN: Absolutely. I’m very concerned he may have anti-American views.*

Yesterday - Same idiot, different venue, different tune:

HOST: You do feel his [Obama’s] views are anti-American?

BACHMANN: I feel his views are concerning. (note bad grammar - should be "are of concern" - then again, it's the new Republicanspeak) I’m calling on the media to investigate them. I’m not saying that his views are anti-American. That was a misreading of what I said. And so I don’t believe that’s my position. (Again, bad grammar - like a child who is covering something up with a grown-up style she's not comfortable with.) I’m calling on the media to take a look at what his views are. (Hmmm...can't she research it herself? Is she saying that the media may have missed something these last two years?)

Alright. So Bachmann is in the news, asking newsmen to investigate Barack Obama and other members of Congress who might not have worn flag lapel pins in the last several weeks. Or bringing to light congressmen who have funny first, middle or last names. They could be suspected of being anti-American!

And what's Bachmann's standard for being anti-American? Not a member of The Assemblies of God Church? Not white? SAT scores a little too high?

No matter what Bachmann's ideas of being anti-American, rest assured she'll tell us someday. And it will, of course, be bad timing.

Please vote for her opponent, Elwyn Tinklenberg.

*Her comment was denounced by Colin Powell as "nonsense" in an October 19, 2008 interview.
